Marni dress.

More pleasing colors... "Blessings of the state, blessings of the masses. Let us be thankful we have an occupation to fill. Work hard, increase production, prevent accidents and be happy. Thou art a subject of the divine, created in the image of man, by the masses, for the masses. Let us be thankful we have commerce. Buy more. Buy more now. Buy. And be happy." - THX 1138

i love the subtlety of the marni dress - just enough color to make a point.

thx 1138 was george lucas' best movie. the empire strikes back is a close second.

Love the way how the chaotic surroundings full of rubbish are in dialog with the text of the post. Personally that chaos and mess and huge pile of... stuff really looks like how I feel most of the time when I'm thinking about our society, all the expectations and "how to be a good citizen" -stuff. It's all circling around consumerism and productivity. Person doing something else than making piles of money (artists, students, volunteer workers, unemployed people, mentally ill people, the kids, or simply lost people) hardly has any human value in the eyes of the great machine. Bring money or be nothing. Buy or be nobody.

WOW, i love this! it's so unexpected! and the marni dress... stunning. how you make a simple thing look cool. very inspiring. i'm a huge marni fan by the way (so proud of my first skirt i bought, let me think... must have been more than 15 years ago), but the last two collections did not really wow me. what do you think?

Perfect relationship between the quote and a heaping pile of now unwanted junk. Thanks for quoting some THX-1138, that made my day.

Kazuko: Lately it does seem more experimental - funky (dislike that word in design, as much as you do your "cheeky font"). I think I prefer the "old" Marni too.
