Frank Lloyd Wright Fallingwater House 1935.
A couple of pictures from my recent trip to southwestern Pennsylvania to explore the Kaufmann Residence known as Fallingwater, an organic masterpiece designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1935. I envy Wright's energy. At 67, he designed this house and its furniture, an age when most people are retired and mow their lawns all day long. Speaking of artistic productivity at a late age, "The Modernism of Julius Shulman" a documentary by Eric Bricker, was an eye opening experience. I highly recommend it.

I hadn't realized that FLW designed the furniture as well.
He was an extraordinary visionary (as was Shulman). I admire both greatly.
Thank you for sharing these images. Fallingwater has been on "the list" for quite some time. Can't wait to see it for myself..

i gotta take a trip out there too.
I can't believe you've been to Fallingwater! Such a huge fan of FLW. Read his biography and even the historical fiction from his mistress' point of view :) We have an FLW house in Stanford here too, complete with the hexagonal furniture he designed for the hexagonal theme of the house. And, our current house was designed by his student. So at least a few of his design elements are there.
