Wearing my angora essentials I have been patiently collecting over the last couple of years. Today's ensemble has a similar idea to the 20120601 look I posted in June. This time I replaced the tank top and skirt with a sleeveless turtleneck and baggy leggings. My lipstick is bright red in Lady Danger by MAC.

In these ogive settings, the whole concept of medieval chain mail armour with the coif falling down the shoulders feels more adequate.

How about brightening up that January depression a little bit? My hat is a $5 dollar beanie I got off of Amazon. My makeup is a very loud, orange lipstick by MAC, and as always, I wear it with a bare face and Chanel mascara. I introduced this color to my makeup routine back in 2011, but now I'm looking for a new, slightly yellower hue. Any recommendations?

I usually ignore fashion quotes, finding them pseudo intellectual, but there is one by Karl Lagerfeld I kind of like. It can be interpreted in the aspect of subtlety versus boldness as well as be taken literally. He says: "Go either very cheap or very expensive. It's the middle ground that is fashion nowhere." Here I'm wearing Owens' leather coat paired with an American Apparel cotton crewneck and trousers. For heavy-usage casual basics I only go with that brand as each piece is a must-have essential for both casual and practical purposes. All in black, of course, and preferably of the same fabric composition, because when I shop there I buy in sets so I want them to match nicely.

Last winter I stopped wearing scarves, finding them too awkward or too bulky, and I didn't want to get involved with uncomfortable turtlenecks either. So this hijab-inspired wool collar happened to be a brilliant alternative. I can wear this single piece over any of my crewneck tops as a scarf or high over the ears.
